Rabbit Group has won a renewed and extended three-year contract with Adur and Worthing Council for the treatment and disposal of the council’s collected trade waste, as a result of our extensive and reliable service over the last two years.
The new contract
The new contract is to process approximately 6000 tonnes of waste per year created by businesses in Adur and Worthing through our energy from waste plant and generate green energy to go into the National Grid.
A big win
Winning such a big contract highlights Rabbit Group’s ability to cope with the demands of dealing with increasingly large volumes of waste, whilst maintaining a service that is both economical and unquestionably reliable for our valued customers. This huge influx of waste will have a significant impact on the amount of energy from waste that we can produce through our energy from waste plant.
Energy from waste
The sole aim of this facility is to maximise recycling and minimise landfill, by turning collected waste into green electricity which powers approximately 8000 homes every year.
We are extremely passionate about green waste management and, with this new contract, we will be able to significantly increase the amount of electricity we can produce and make a real difference.
“We are very happy to win the contract which will provide fuel for our energy from waste plant, generating green energy into the National Grid,” says Commercial & Operations Director, Duncan Barrass.
